Please note, all good things must come to an end, and this is the
last Lit Loot that we will be offering. Interest in this program has
been declining so we plan to offer a new take on reading promotion
programs in 2026. Sign up here.
Teen Take and Make:
Customized Mini-Canvas Magnet
Available December 1
You will receive a small canvas, a set of paints, and a magnet.
Use the paints to create a unique magnet and display it proudly
where it can be admired. Sign up here.
Teen Take & Make:
2026 Customized Calendar
Create your own Customized 2026 Calendar! We will provide you
with a calendar page for each month and graphics that you can
color and tape/glue as stickers, as well as binder clips and string
to use to hang your calendar. You will need to provide
crayons/colored pencils/markers, tape or glue, and a
writing utensil. Make the calendar your very own using
the space provided to track your goals for the month, books
you have read, and positive things that happened
that you want to remember.

Teen Movie Night:
Freakier Friday
Wednesday, December 17 | 5:30 – 8:00 pm
Hang out with us at the library and enjoy a free movie with your friends!
We will be watching Freakier Friday (PG-13). Popcorn and refreshments will
be provided. This program is for teens only. No registration is required.
Teen Event:
Create a Gitt
Monday, December 22 | 1:30 – 3:30 pm
Create a craft project of your choice for a holiday gift using a variety
of our supplies. We will provide: markers, beads, wire, die-cut shape
paper punches, stickers, ribbon, cardstock and glue. Or, create your
own individual artwork with acrylic paints on canvas. We will provide
the supplies, you provide the creativity! This event is for teens ages 12 – 18.
Registration is required to ensure we have enough materials.

Teen Event:
Cocoa and Cozy Books
Monday, December 29 | 2:00 – 3:30 pm
Join us to meet new friends, enjoy a hot cocoa bar while you
read, and talk about what you’ve read. Bring a blanket and/or
pillow to help you be cozy. We will spend some time visiting,
and some time reading. Stop in and read with us on one of your
free days of winter break!
Teen Tuesday in the Makerspace:
Custom Buttons
Tuesday, January 6 | 3:30 – 5 p.m
New in 2026! We will be planning a Teen Tuesday Makerspace
activity on the first Tuesday of each month. Learn how to use the
button maker in our Makerspace to create custom buttons and
decorative pins for your backpacks, jackets, and lanyards.
We will provide all of the materials and the machine, you will
use your creativity to design the images you wish to
turn into buttons.

Join us to watch anime and enjoy some boba tea with friends.
This program is for teens only. No registration is required but
please plan to arrive on time so you don’t miss out on your boba tea.

Attention Willmar High School students! Are you stuck at
school during Zero Hour with nothing to do? Join WPL’s
Teen Services Librarian, Melissa, and other Willmar High
School students for Zero Hour Breakfast & Books on
Wednesday, January 14, in the computer lab by the library.
This informal book club for WHS students only gives you a
chance to talk about books you’ve loved (or even disliked) with
others. Make suggestions to friends and get suggestions from
new friends. Enjoy a donut while you hang out. Learn about
upcoming teen events that will be happening at the public
library. We will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month
during Zero Hour. Registration is encouraged
so we can bring enough food for everyone.

Fun Friday for Teens
Friday, Jan. 23 | 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Are you looking for something to do after school? Bring some
friends to the library and chill in the multipurpose room.
In 2026, we will plan an event on the fourth Friday of each month
specifically for teens ages 12 – 18. This month we will offer X-box
games and Nintendo Switch games for our activity. The Nintendo
Switch consoles are provided by Prairielands Library Exchange.
